She wears red garments (raktambar), which symbolize power, energy, passion, and the active creative force of the universe. Around her neck is adorned a magnificent garland of red flowers (rakta pushpa mala), signifying vitality and life force. She rides majestically upon a lion (kehari vahan), which represents courage, fearlessness, and mastery over all animal instincts and passions. In her hands, she holds a khadga (sword) representing the cutting away of falsehood, ignorance, and ego, and a khappar (skull cup) symbolizing victory over death and the transcendence of mortality. Gods (sur), humans (nar), and sages (muni) all serve her with devotion because she is "dukhhari" - the remover of all sorrows, sufferings, and afflictions from her devotees. Her earrings (kanan kundal) shine brilliantly, and a pearl (moti) adorns her nose, adding to her divine beauty. Her radiance and spiritual light equals that of millions upon millions (kotik) of suns (divakar) and moons (chandra), illuminating the entire universe. Most significantly, the aarti proclaims that the Hindu trinity - Hari (Lord Vishnu, the preserver), Brahma (the creator), and Shiva (the destroyer) - constantly meditate upon her day and night (nishdin), establishing her supreme position as the Shakti (power) behind all cosmic functions.
