मन लागो मेरो यार फकीरी में

यह संत कबीर का एक निर्गुण भजन है, जो वैराग्य और सादगी के आनंद को दर्शाता है। कबीर कहते हैं, "हे मित्र, मेरा मन अब फकीरी (त्याग, सादगी) में लग गया है।" वह बताते हैं कि जो सुख (आनंद) राम के भजन (नाम-स्मरण) में है, वह सुख अमीरी (धन-दौलत) में नहीं है। वह सलाह देते हैं कि जीवन में सबका भला-बुरा सुन लेना चाहिए, लेकिन अपना जीवन गरीबी (सादगी, अहंकार रहित) में ही बिताना चाहिए। वह कहते हैं, "हमारी रहनी (जीवन शैली) प्रेम के नगर में है, और यह धैर्य (सबूरी) के साथ ही संभव हो पाया है।" एक फकीर के रूप में, उनके हाथ में कुंडी (भिक्षा पात्र) और बगल में सोटा (लाठी) है, और चारों दिशाएं ही उनकी जागीर (संपत्ति) हैं; उन्हें किसी एक स्थान से मोह नहीं है। अंत में कबीर कहते हैं, "सुनो भाई साधो, साहिब (ईश्वर) धैर्य (सबूरी) रखने वालों को ही मिलते हैं।"

This is a 'Nirgun' (attributeless God) bhajan by a Saint Kabir, expressing the joy of renunciation and simplicity. Kabir says, "O friend (yaar), my mind (mana) is now absorbed in fakiri (the life of a renunciate, simplicity)." He explains, "The joy (sukha) that I found in singing the praises of God (Raama bhajana), that joy is not found in wealth (amiri)." He advises one to listen to everyone's good and bad words but to live one's life in 'poverty' (garibi) - meaning simplicity and freedom from ego. He states, "My dwelling (raheni) is in the city of love (prema nagara), and I have managed this well through patience (saburi)." As a fakir, "I have a 'kundi' (begging bowl) in my hand and a 'sota' (walking stick) under my arm, and all four directions (chaaron disha) are my estate (jaagiri)"; meaning he is non-attached to any single place or possession. Kabir concludes, "Listen, O sadhu (seeker), the Lord (Saahiba) is found only through patience (saburi)."
